Car Insurance Cadillac (Car Insurance). 93 accord smog failed, NOS too high?93 accord smog failed, NOS too high? i have a 93 accord california model, i just did the smog and fail on the low speed (15mph @ 1700rpm). The NOS was too high, the max should be 492 and i measured 1450. was told to replace the cat. but am wondering if i replace with a universal cat, will it bring down the numbers enought to pass? or do i need a cat thats vehicle specific, and its for california? Well first off, you got the chemicals wrong. What the guy told you was excessive is referred to in the industry as NOx, or oxides of nitrogen. This term applies to what ever combination of nitrogen and oxygen is coming out of your tailpipe, and they are all VERY bad pollutants. What you were told is correct, you need to replace your catalytic converter so that it burns off these chemicals. A universal cat will help, but the one designed and made specifically for your car is the best. Auto parts : Dist Terminal Block Acura 1995 . Distributor Alfa Romeo 1996 . Ford has the Canadian Triton V10 engine it has around 396hp and gets probably worse mpg than a V8. Why didn't Ford have a Big Block built for the F250 and F350 trucks? A Big Block would of had more power and probably better mpg than the V10. Probably Ford would of been better off if they would of brought back the 351 Cleavland for the Big Block. car insurance. Cadillac . How to Remove Sharpie Marks From the Roof of a CarPermanent marker in the hands of vandals means a big, annoying mess. If you have Sharpie marks on the roof of your car, chances are you've been targeted by a vandal, although this is, of course, not the only way marks can happen. No matter the origin of the marks, the solution is the same. Before you make the trip to the car dealer or an auto shop, take a look inside your bathroom or cupboards. It is there that you may find all you need to get rid of these marks on your roof. It will take a little time (but not much) and work, but it can be done. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Cheap hair spray (containing alcohol) or plain isopropyl rubbing alcohol Soft cloths, such as microfiber cloths Water Bucket Step by Step : 1 Pour water into a clean bucket for your rinse water. If you have a garden hose available, you can just use that instead. 2 Spray hairspray or put rubbing alcohol liberally on the permanent marker marks. If there are several marks, or the marks are large, start with only one section at a time--otherwise the hairspray or alcohol on other areas will dry before you get to them. 3 Rub the Sharpie marks with a soft cloth. Apply more hairspray or rubbing alcohol if the mark isn't coming off easily. Turn the towel to the clean side each time. 4 Dip a clean cloth in the bucket of water. Rinse the alcohol or hairspray off the car. These products should not damage the finish, but could cause spotting if allowed to remain without rinsing. 5 Dry the finished area with a clean towel. Move on to the next area needing to be cleaned. Tips & Warnings The sooner you notice the marks and treat them, the easier it will be to get them off the car. The sun's rays beating on the roof essentially bakes stains on. Both rubbing alcohol and hairspray are flammable. Don't smoke while cleaning marker off using these. ResourcesMicrofiber cloths
Cadillac . How to Layout Symmetrical Flames On Your Car or TruckHave you ever wanted to have professional looking flames on your car or truck? Mild or wild? I designed "Bag of Flames" for the do-it-yourselfer. This kit is designed to enable anyone to layout symmetrical flames with ease. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Two patterns (hood and side) - from the kit Pounce wheel (from the kit) Pounce powder (from the kit) Used sock Fine line tape (1/32") or Thin masking tape (1/8") Sandpaper (240) Step by Step : 1 Taking the pattern for the top of the hood and laying it on the right hand side of the hood. Mark the hood where you want the pattern to fit. Remove it and tape it to a large flat surface, such as a piece of cardboard. 2 Take the pinwheel and carefully trace on the flames of the paper on the cardboard to create small perforations. Take a piece of sandpaper (240) and lightly sand the backside of the pattern, opposite the side you perforated. This will open the holes so the chalk can go through. Once this has been completed, place the pattern back on the top of the hood and realign all the locator points you marked. Once the pattern is in position, tape it down with masking tape. 3 Once the pattern is in place, open up the small bag of chalk included in the kit and dump it into an old sock. This will be your "pounce" bag. Taking the pounce bag filled with the chalk, pat and rub around the lines of the flames. Once you have done this, carefully remove the pattern. 4 Now that you can see the chalk flames lines on the hood of the vehicle, take Fine Line Tape (1/32") or Thin Masking Tape (1/8"), and tape the backside edge of the flames, using special care not to wipe off any of the lines in the process. The back side of the flames is the part closest to the windshield, which is the side of the flames you want to outline with the tape. At this point, you are ready to back tape; taping and masking off all areas which are not to be painted with flames so you can protect the finish of the vehicle which is not to be painted. 5 Wipe off the pattern paper, with a slightly damp cloth, flip it over and do the other side of the hood. By turning the paper pattern over, you get a perfectly symmetrical set of flames going the opposite direction as the right side. Cleaning the chalky side of the pattern first, keeps you from smearing chalk over the clean side of the hood so the design transfers better. Repeat the process of #2-4. 6 Now the layout is completed, the outline taping is completed and the back taping is completed. you are ready to start paint preparation. Note you are not ready to take the spray gun out and start mixing paint, because the surface must be prepared according to the correct paint procedures as specified by the paint manufacturer. Please take the time to do the job correctly as it is well worth the effort. Tips & Warnings You can also layout flame patterns on both hood and the side in one go. In this case, start taping on the side first so the chalk on the hood won't be smeared. You can use Bag of flames technique on any surface, such as wall, refrigerator, any flat surface. Bag of flames kit can be purchased at www.bagofflames.com. More detailed instruction is included in the bag. For flame work reference, visit www.artworkbysteve.com Do not use the pinwheel on the painted surface of the vehicle. If you do not feel you have the experience or skills to do the spraying part of the job, please contact a professional who can do the job for you. Make sure you follow all applicable laws and regulations. If you attempt to remove the positive clamp first and your wrench slips and touches something metal, your wrench can fuse to the part like an arc welder. Brush the deposits off the terminal posts and cable clamps with an old toothbrush or disposable nonmetallic brush and a mixture of baking soda and water. Sprinkle the baking soda straight from the little yellow box that keeps your refrigerator smelling nice, dip the brush in water, and scrub the deposits away. Par t l: Getting Started If your cables and clamps won't clean up completely with baking soda and water, rotate a round battery terminal cleaner brush (see Figure 3-6) on each terminal to shine it up and ensure a good, solid electrical connection. You can also shine up the insides of the cable clamps by using the clamp cleaner that is usually sold as one unit with the terminal brush. If you can't find these brushes, use a soapless steel wool pad. Cadillac . They stopped making the loan payment to you?

In most modern cars, computers control the engine fuel and ignition systems and automatic transmission functions. When messing about with batteries and their cables, be extremely careful not to make a mistake and inadvertently send a shot of unwanted voltage into one of the computers and destroy it.
